Study Tips for Tactile Learners

Spend extra time in any labs offered Use gestures when giving explanations
Use a computer to reinforce learning by using the sense of touch Make models that demonstrate the main concept. The act of making the model will reinforce learning
Practice breathing slowly Stand up when giving explanations
Write with your fingers in sand Use role playing with a study partner
Write lists repeatedly Associate feelings with information
Exaggerate lip movements in front of a mirror Participate in any field trips offered
Use rhythm (beats) to memorize or explain information Make flashcards for each step in a procedure. Put the cards in order until the sequence becomes automatic
Pretend you are the instructor or tutor Use the MM Study Skills CD-ROM in the TLC to increase your study strategies
