All OCTC students who take
the GE 100 course, take the Myers Briggs test. Counselor Dr. Joe
Yazvac gives the tests and goes over the results with those students.
For students wanting more data, please read the following information

The following information
comes from the website KnowYourType:Personality Testing for Groups
and Individuals. |

Isabel Myers and her mother Katharine Cook
Briggs developed the Myers-Briggs Test to find a way to find practical
use for Swiss psychiatrist C.G. Jung's psychological types. The
two women researched normal personality differences for 50 years before
they finally developed the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® Instrument.
When people take the test, they answer the questions themselves.
The results help people understand themselves, identify the differences
between themselves and other people, hopefully resulting in better
understanding and communication between people. The test is also
used for: |
- Career development and exploration
- Organization development
- Team building
- Management and leadership training
- Problem solving
- Relationship counseling
- Education and curriculum development
- Academic counseling
- Diversity and multicultural training
