2. Books – Two or Three Authors

First Author’s Last Name, First Name, and Second Author’s First Name Last Name. Title. City:

       Publisher, Date.

EXAMPLE:

Miller, Brenda, and Suzanne Paula. Tell It Slant. New York: McGraw-Hill, 2004.

3. Books – Edited

Editor’s Last Name, First Name, ed. Title. City: Publisher, Date.

EXAMPLE:

4. Journal Article – Multiple Authors

6. Newspaper Article – One Author

EXAMPLE:

"+" indicates the article is continued on non-consecutive pages.

7. Personal Communications

Author. "Subject Line." E-mail to paper’s author. Date.

EXAMPLE:

Coleman, Jennifer. "Re: Museum Renovations." E-mail to Clare Matthews. 12 July 2005.

8. In-Text Citation Format

If the author is named in the signal phrase, only a page reference (if available) is needed.

EXAMPLE:

According to Fortune editor Andy Serwer, "The rate of oil discovery worldwide has been in decline for decades" (67).

If the author is unnamed in the sentence, provide the name and page number at the end.

EXAMPLE:

One Fortune editor claims, "The rate of oil discovery worldwide has been in decline for decades" (Serwer 67).
