A-V Valves

Heart valve When the heart is relaxed the   A-V  flaps  hang open.
Heart valve

When the ventricles contract they are pressed closed from the ventricular side.

Semilunar Valves

Heart valve

When the ventricle contracts blood is pushed against the semilunar valve and blood is expelled.

Heart valve

When the ventricle relaxes blood pressure is higher in the vessels,  which closes the valve.
