The following poem, by a native Alaskan whose native language is Tlingit, uses many repetitions of the Tlingit word for apple (x'aax') to make up the shape of an apple. At the top of the apple, we see a little squiggle making up the stem--it's the Tlingit word for stem (akat' ani). The poem also uses the native word for worm (tl'ukwx). Where is the worm?
