How to Apply for a Credential
(Associate Degree, Diploma, or
Certificate)
from OCTC
-
Complete the necessary program
requirements, and fill out an Academic Plan (approved course of
study) with your advisor
-
In the semester prior to your
completion of the credential requirements, you must contact your
advisor and up-date the academic plan.
-
Please visit the Student Records
Office during the time listed in the Semester Calendar to apply for
credentials. When you submit your updated Academic Plan to the
Student Records Office, please allow twenty minutes
to fill out the required paper work. Please complete these
requirements during the dates listed in the Semester Calendar.
Repeating a Course
(Community College policy only)
Students may repeat a course as many times as they feel it necessary to
bring their competence up to the levels desired, subject to the approval
of the division chairperson. To exercise a repeat option for the purpose
of improving a grade, a course must be repeated with the same grade
option as the original enrollment in the course. Before repeating a
course, the student must notify in writing the president of the college
(or designee) in which the student is enrolled. The highest grade earned
in a completed course shall constitute the official grade for the
courses. If students have been dropped from a technical program, course
enrollment is dependent upon readmission to the program. A student may
not register in a given term for more than one course bearing the same
number, except where such courses have different identifying titles
